Our Stance on Accessibility

What are we doing?

The McCleary School District seeks to understand and respect the unique needs of our students and community. We are committed to ensuring the accessibility of our web content for people with disabilities. We base our accessibility efforts on the Web World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C’s) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA.

How are we doing?

We strive to meet your expectations and needs on our site, but we recognize that sometimes we might fall short. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you’re unable to access content on our website, have questions about the accessibility of content or technology we use, or would like to report barriers to access any information on this website. Please contact us at (360) 495-3184.

Why are we focusing on accessibility?

Accessibility is more than just a legal requirement — it’s the right thing to do. Accessibility aligns with and supports our mission and vision for our schools and our community. More than 1 in 4 adults lives with a disability, according to the Centers for Disease Control, and disability is intersectional. In other words, it interacts with and is influenced by our other identities, like race, ethnicity, gender, sex, national origin, and age. When we make the web more accessible for people with disabilities, we make it better for all of us.

Filing a Formal Grievance

If you believe the McCleary School District has discriminated against you because of your disability or has failed to make reasonable accommodation for your disability, you may file a written grievance that includes:

1. The nature of the grievance.
2. The facts upon which the grievance is based.
3. Your signature and the date you filed the grievance.

We will investigate the allegations contained in the written grievance to reach a prompt and equitable resolution.

Please file the grievance with McCleary School District Superintendent Susan Zetty. Susan can be reached at szetty@mccleary.wednet.edu or (360) 495-3514. Our mailing address is 611 S Main St. McCleary, WA 98557
